Dear research user,

We would like to inform you of a planned update in the Lifebit Platform on Wednesday, 12 November 2025 from 5:00 (GMT) to 09:00 (GMT).

The change will affect the Cohort Browser Platform Module.

This means that during the change window the Cohort Browser module will be unavailable. You will not be able to

Any workflows or analyses already running will not be affected.

NGIS Production Environment: Congenica V4 Release Nov 15, 2025 18:00 - Nov 16, 2025 12:00 GMT

Dear all,

We would like to inform you of a planned software release to Congenica in the NGIS Production environment. Congenica version 4.0 will be released on Saturday, 15 November 2025 from 18:00 (GMT) to 12:00 (GMT) on Sunday, 16 November 2025.

The Congenica 4.0 Release Notes are available in the Release Notes folder in NHS Futures.

The main changes in this release are:
- Migration to Ensembl v109 and related database changes
- Automated update of Gene Panels

Please note that Congenica in the NGIS production environment will be unavailable during the advised timeframe. All other NGIS applications are unaffected.

Research Environment - Maintenance Notification - CloudOS Nov 18, 2025 09:00-17:00 GMT

Dear research user,

We would like to inform you of planned maintenance for Tuesday, 18 November 2025 from 09:00 (GMT) to 17:00 (GMT).

The Research Environment (RE) accessed with registration code wslhr+9BK4PR will be discontinued.

This is the previous generation of our RE and we will be closing it down. Users will no longer be able to access the RE using this registration code after this date.

Most users are already using the current RE and this change will not affect them.

If you are using the old code, to access the current RE, you need to use registration code wslhr+WJH7W9. Your username and password remain the same.

All users' home directories from the old RE are already synchronised to their existing home directory under the new code, at ~/cloudre_home/

The synchronisation process occurs every day at 00:00 (midnight), so any files saved to your home drive on the old RE will be synchronised to the new location nightly.

If you have any trouble using registration code wslhr+WJH7W9, please contact Genomics England Service Desk.

NGIS Production Environment: Congenica Case Deletion - 20 November 2025 Nov 20, 2025 09:00-17:00 GMT

Dear Congenica User,

This is a reminder that GEL will be deleting cases from Congenica on a regular basis. The cases that will be marked for deletion will be the ones that have been closed for 2 weeks in the Interpretation Portal, this is regardless of the amount of time that it has been in Congenica. Closed is defined as the report/summary of findings and exit questionnaire being completed by the user.

The next set of deletions will take place on the Thursday, 20 November 2025.

If you wish to keep a case in Congenica, we advise that you inform the Genomics England Service Desk at least 3 days in advance of the 2 week mark for your case.

We anticipate that jobs submitted to the short and medium queues before this time will complete successfully. However, please note that some long queue jobs may be terminated prematurely and will need to be re-submitted after the maintenance.

-Tomorrow 30 October 2025 - login and compute nodes will not be available from 10:00 GMT and 14:00 (GMT).

The Double Helix HPC's login and compute nodes will not be available on Thursday, 30 October 2025 from 10:00 (GMT) to 14:00 (GMT).

Logins will not be possible during this time and running jobs will be affected, any jobs that are still running at the start of the maintenance window will be terminated and will need to be rerun. This will include any orchestration jobs you may have running for your workflows. We have to take this action to perform an urgent security patch on our systems to ensure the security of our data and your work. We will stop accepting jobs in the queues at the start of the maintenance period and expect there to be a drain of jobs in the short and medium queues that will result in running jobs being completed as expected. Because of the window between this announcement and the start of this essential work it is possible that some long running jobs within the long queue will be affected and will need to be rerun as there may not be time for these to drain.
