Scheduled - Dear Congenica User,

This is a reminder that GEL will be deleting cases from Congenica on a regular basis. The cases that will be marked for deletion will be the ones that have been closed for 2 weeks in the Interpretation Portal, this is regardless of the amount of time that it has been in Congenica. Closed is defined as the report/summary of findings and exit questionnaire being completed by the user.

The next set of deletions will take place on the Thursday, 23 July 2026.

If you wish to keep a case in Congenica, we advise that you inform the Genomics England Service Desk at least 3 days in advance of the 2 week mark for your case.

Please be advised that scheduled maintenance will take place from 10.00 (BST) – 17.00 (BST) on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

During this maintenance window, some services may be temporarily unavailable or experience intermittent disruption.

VDI – This will remain accessible, but access to network data will be inaccessible during the maintenance window. Applications that do not rely on this data will still be available (CloudOS).

The Double Helix HPC will not be available during this time.

Logins will not be possible during this time and running interactive jobs will be affected, any jobs that are still running at the start of the maintenance window will be terminated and will need to be rerun. This will include any orchestration jobs you may have running for your workflows.

In preparation please:
* save any ongoing work
* terminate (using the bkill command) any interactive jobs that are running
* logout from your session prior to the maintenance window

You may login and resubmit your jobs from Thursday, 16 July 2026.

Bigmem and Long queues will be closed or drained from 17:00 today. The Medium and Short queues will be closed Monday, 13 July from 10:00.

On Tuesday, 14 July 2026 we are upgrading our login system for Genomics England applications, in the Research Environment including Service Desk and Research Portals.

This upgrade will improve security and consistency - our main applications will now be accessed using the same credentials (single sign-on): your registered email and password.

You will need to enrol the additional account onto your MFA app.

What you need to do
- Go to https://research-login.genomicsengland.co.uk - log in using your registered email address and password.
- In this process, you will select your preferred MFA app (eg Okta Verify).
- Open your MFA app.
- Follow the prompts both in the app and in the browser to add the additional account.
- Full step-by-step instructions: https://re-docs.genomicsengland.co.uk/okta_upgrade.

From Tuesday, 14 July 2026 you will use your new MFA account, which is http://research-login.genomicsengland.co.uk.

After the upgrade you will not be able to login to any of our applications with the old account (ngisengland.okta.com).

SW 6.4 Elder Release will be deployed on Thursday, 30 April 2026 between 09:00 (BST) and 18:00 (BST).

Please note that we cannot ensure the normal functionality of the CloudOS application during this time.

This release will include 14 new features for CloudOS, including:
- Revamped Navigation for Federated Data, Data Science and Advanced Analytics
- Interactive Sessions through the Lifebit CLI
- Linked Folders in Snapshots and RShiny Apps
- Simplified Data Adding for Interactive Sessions
- Expanded Nextflow Version Support
- Deprecation of Community Tools
